Descripción
This is a customisable guide for fitting cables into to make them go around corners, protecting the cable from being bent too sharply (which might damage it).
It was more a curiosity thing to play around some more with OpenSCAD, but it turned out to be reasonably useful as well, so here it is.
Because it's an OpenSCAD file you can open it in the "customiser" and modify it for...
- cable thickness
- bend angle
- bend radius
- thickness of the "walls"
- side pinch amount (to keep the cable in place)
- top thickness (for "side pinch")
- feed in/out guide length
The STL file is an example generated from the default settings (see photo). It works for a 3mm iPhone charging cable bending at a 90° angle 1cm bend radius, a 0.2mm "pinch" on either side and a 1cm feed in/out length. The walls are 2mm thick, and the top thickness is 1mm.
The results print well in the original orientation - that is, an upright 'L' shape with one leg going along the print bed and the other vertical.
