I designed a Bed bracket LED Night Reading light. The Light just sits on top of the bed headboard. No drilling or double sided tape on the headboard. The switch is activated by opening the Lamp holder. Used three 1W LED diode with 33Ohm resistor on 12V DC 1A adapter. For switch i used a neodymium magnet 5mm, and a 1A Reed switch. Easy no need to fumble for a tiny switch as the whole lamp holder is a big switch! The light is bright enough and not too glaring for night reading.

No complicated electronics, just simple reed switch in series activated by magnet and 33 Ohm resistor and 3 LEDs all in series to 12V.

Just add some Kapton tape to secure the LEDs. It is warm to touch and won't deform the PLA lamp holder. Used for hours and good for your favorite book night reading!
