A printed watertight container for taking experiments underwater with the ThunderTiger Neptune SB-1 RC submarine.
An upgrade from this thing: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:128122
where you needed the container from a Kinder Surprise Mega Egg. to make it watertight. The problem was: v1 worked too well. Once you closed the Kinder Surprise container with the harness inside, it proved impossible to open. (unless you cut it open with a knife, which is what i ended up doing).
Instruções
Print the 2 halves, 30% infill and 4 walls minimum, preferably in ABS plastic.
Slightly coat the exterior with acetone using a brush (or, if u have it, use an acetone vaporbath). This is to make sure all holes get closed, if you want to make double sure, you can coat the inside too.
put liquid rubber (latex) on the ring of the bottom piece (where the upper piece fits on) to make the closure watertight.
put M3 bolts into the holes of the top piece
slide M3 nuts into the openings on the side of the bottom piece.
glue in 2 5mm copper tubes into the holes at the top of the top piece. This is for fitting the tubing to go to a pressure sensor on the inside or to bring out a wire antenna..
put iin electronics and screw top and bottom to eachother using the 6 pairs of nuts & bolts added above.
Insert it in one of the sidetanks on your SB-1 and off you go!
