this is my first hexacopter. since it is pretty big i made it foldable so it can be carried around more easily.
the hexacopter was designed in creo elements express (free cad software from ptc). the design file is attached.

3d print the following parts in abs (3 shells, 30% infill)

• 6x motor mounts
• 6x hinges
• 1x center plate
• 2x landing gear block
• 2x landing gear top
• 4x landing gear feet

laser cut or saw the following parts from 4 mm poplar plywood:

• 1x top disc (200 mm diameter)
• 1x center disc (200 mm diameter)¨
• 1x bottom disc (200 mm diameter)
• 12x ribs near esc's
• 6x ribs near bolts

cut the following:

• 4x carbon rod 6 mm x 180 mm
• 6x aluminum tube 15 mm x 15 mm x 330 mm
  the cover is a bit more difficult to make. i thermoformed it from 1 mm petg sheet (regular pet does not work).
