Descrição
This is just a placeholder for a fully parametric (openscad scripted) Mendel style vertex. You want it skinny? Want to print quick moulds to fill with resin? Want to add a foot? Want to switch to chunky M10 rod, smaller M6 studding or perhaps carbon-fibre rods?...
This script makes sure the resulting part is a drop in replacement for the Standard Mendel (or Huxley) Vertex by following certain design guides, while allowing maximum versatility.
I will be cleaning up the code in the next few days and then release as soon as possible. Features include:
- Define height and width of the vertex
- Separately define shell (/wall) thickness for vertex and rod sections.
- Add a shell base layer within the vertex (useful for mould making)
- Specify dimensions of a foot if required
- Define studded rod dimensions and tolerances
- Ability to include grub (wood/) screws for fixing bamboo / dowel / carbon-fibre rods.
Let me know what features you'd like...
Instruções
Currently my Makerbot is out of action. I'd be really grateful if anyone wants to print and test these experimental parts.
- Standard is based of the extensively tested geometry of: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4234
- Minimal is untested! It uses just 8cc(!) of plastic and should print in ~30mins.
- The example with a Foot (15mm) is not using standard geometry, but is a quick test. The foot design is likely to be re-worked.
