This is a Spade Drill Bit Case that I designed when my original one broke. It is designed for 8 bits up to 32mm width. The spacing is pretty tight for 32mm so will need modifying for any other size. The bits are held in with magnets and the latch mechanism was deigned to work with the same size magnets.

Printing: My brother printed it so unsure on the details. For the 2 tone he just stopped the print after the first few layers then changed the filament.

Additional Materials:

• 18 Disk magnets (Max size 10mm dia x 2mm height) with one face being north and the other south.
• 2 x (10mm long 1.5mm dia) metal pins. (I used cloths line peg springs and just cut out the straight parts)
• Optional - 100mm x 5mm dia metal pin to replace the pin model supplied (works with the printed one in a prototype quite well. I just went over the top and bought 2 x 40mm pins)

Body Assembly

1. Glue 16 magnets in the back of the case to hold the bits in place.
2. Clean out the hinge holes with e 5mm dril bit. I used pliers to turn the drill bit while moving it through.
3. Hammer the pin in place. Hinge Assembly.
4. Glue 2 magnets "Opposing each other" in the circle area on the latch and the space the latch will sit. The idea is that the magnets push the back up and keep the latch closed.
5. Optional but worth it, use a fine grit sandpaper to smooth the latch so that it slides and closes without you having to put the button down.
6. Twist and push through the small pins that you made from pen springs to clean out the hold on the case and on the latch. once the pins can be push through with relative ease, put the latch in position and push the pins in place. Some glue is hand to hold then once in place. be careful not to glue the entire pin in location as the latch needs to hinge.
