Background

Not all helmets are created equal, and I've found different helmets required different post heights to properly display them. As such, I've put together these files which easily screw together, allowing you to print out what you need to proudly display your nerdiness, err, I mean, helmets.

What do I print?

Simply print out your base of choice, some posts and a cap. Screw everything together, and you're done! If it's too short, print out more posts. Too tall? print out more smaller posts then mix and match to get the height you want.

Post options

Note: The height referenced is how many mm the post adds, actual file height is 17.5mm taller to account for the female threads. * 25mm * 50mm * 100mm

2/17/22 - I finally broke down and designed a super simple (nothing fancy) top to hold the Black Series Starlord Helmet: File name: Cap_Starlord _Helmet.stl . It hooks under the pads near the top left and right side a s well as the forehead. I used the small base, a 100mm, 50mm, and 25mm post. I'll post a make using this Cap.

What if I want a different base/cap?

I've added .stl files of the male and female connectors in case you'd like to build/design your own base or cap. I do ask if you design something, please upload it to Thingiverse as a remix to this file so others can use it as well. My creativity only goes so far.

Printing notes

* All files were designed to be printed without supports. As long as your printer is semi-dialed in, the threads should print out just fine. * I recommend printing at 20%-25% infill and 3 outer layers for strength/stability of the threads.

* MkII_Example.stl is an example of an assembled helmet stand using the Arc Reactor base.
