Descrição
I had been looking for a chance to demonstrate to the rest of the family the utility of a 3d printer . My daughter needed to design a vehicle that would roll as far as possible after tossing a weight using a mousetrap . We used old CD's for wheels . Getting an axle into a CD was easy using a printed hub. Mounting the bearings required a wheelblock ( its designed for a 5mm ID bearing). So by printing the CD hub and the wheelblock the car was quickly assembled.
Instruções
1.We used basswood as the base of the car i suggest you do your decorating before assembly. 2.Taking care to line up the wheelblocks in a square pattern they can be mounted to the basswood using M3 hardware 3. The wheelblocks are designed to take 5mm ID bearings . You can glue the bearings in but they will also stay with just a press fit. 4. We used 5mm carbon fiber rod as an axle. Press fit the hubs into your CD's then Press the axle into the ring . Repeat for the opposite side and you are done . Take care if you glue the axle it makes disassembly difficult
