【介紹】 排灣族在日常生活中還有一種較短的佩刀，全長約35~40cm，鐵製刀身，木雕刀柄，但並未配置刀鞘，外出時必須將它插在刀插上，再用繩子把刀插繫在腰間。 此類較短佩刀大多會在刀柄刻著簡單、粗糙的浮雕紋飾；也有樸素無花紋的，它們主要用於開闢山路或修砍。此外有一種工作刀是佩有鞘身的，類似勇士刀，但刀身較短，刀柄與鞘身無任何紋飾。
