I really liked the idea of the wall mounts I remixed from, but I can't drill into my walls in this old house.
So Command Strips are the solution!
I designed these parts with an inset so that they sit flush against the wall while also being securely held by command strips. All the adapters also have 2 screw holes built in to screw-mount later on if you desire.
The transmitter hook has a 7.5* angle on the back in order to help prevent the transmitter sliding off. There is also a step file for this if you want to emboss it. Any embossing that cuts away from the face should be ~1.5mm deep,. There is 3mm of material between the front face and the the inset location for the command strip.
The 1-24 scale is designed with small command strips in mind. (Unsure of part number off-hand). The 1-24 scale hook has an adapter to sit between the hook and the wall if you plant to use screw-mounts.
All other sizes are designed to use Command Strip Part Number 17206 (16Lb / 7,2kg) strips. Note that this payload rating they use refers to the weight limit when using 4 pairs of strips. (each pair has a 4lb payload).
As such, the parts are designed as follows:
1-24 scale + 1.9" wheel mounts = 1 strip per hook 2.2" wheel mount hook = 2 strips per hook 3.8" wheel mount hook = 3 strips per hook
The inset is approx 2.9 - 3mm deep, which sits the command strip's adhesive pretty much flush to the wall-touching side of the hook when the command-strips are interlocked.
I have had my Traxxas Summit 1/16 and my 9lb Axial Yeti hanging from their respective hooks for about 2 weeks now without any issues.
