Descrição
I want to be able to position some ropes lassoed up in trees when there isn't a branch available for making a tarp canopy while camping. This hook should be able to push a lasso up a trunk, and the hook portion should be able to grab the loop end to pull it down.
The hook screws on to a standard broom stick or paint roller thread (I think ACME 3/4-5). I'm using a 5m extendable pole from a Costco snow rake, but it will fit on any pole like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Long-Arm-3212-Extension/dp/B00004YUPO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410223855&sr=8-2&keywords=extendable+pole
Instruções
The two pieces in polehook.stl are all that is needed. The others are original inputs or intermediate files in case you want to modify it.
The hook portion is printed horizontally so layer separation won't lower pulling strength on the hook. No support is needed. I glued the two pieces together with ABS dissolved in acetone, then painted that glue over the outside of the round piece to increase inter-layer strength.
The hole was meant for a 4mm bolt, but do to a screw up while cleaning it up with a drill bit, I actually finished mine by drilling the hole out to 5/16ths, printing 5/16ths x 22mm pin, and gluing that in. I actually like this better and recommend it. If you do that, print your pin horizontally on the bed so that the layers don't shear when used as a pin.
