Being able to slide a piece of paper between the nozzle and the print bed is one way to check the nozzle height is correct. Other bed levelers paper always fell off if there was a little bit of pressure or friction. The post-it note bed leveling tool fixes that problem, makes bed leveling easy, and looks awesome as part of your printer tool arsenal!
The bed leveling tool comes in 2 pieces with 2 finger screws. First, grab the main body and place the sticky side down of the post-it note on the curved part of the tool. The sticky stuff on the post-it note will keep it in place. Then get the paper holder and place on top of the post it note. Finally, grab the two screws and gently push through the post-it note while turning to screw everything into place. That paper isn't going anywhere!
To check the level of the bed, you should be able to slide the post-it note between the end of the nozzle and the print bed while feeling a small amount of friction. If you can't push the post-it note under the nozzle from the front, sometimes sliding the paper under sideways using the side of the post-it note will let the paper get between the two. If you can't do either, then your nozzle is too close to the bed! Try adjusting the bed screws so there's a very small gap.
The idea with this type of bed leveling is that you should be able to feel a little bit of resistance between the post-it note, the nozzle and the bed. If you can slide the note in between and move it back and forth with a little bit of friction, you've got the right height!
And as a bonus, you can draw hair on it and use it as a stick puppet, or turn it upside down and pretend it's a desk broom.
