Infinite Tile Game Creation Setâ„¢

Create almost any tile based board game with these interlocking pieces. The possibilities are almost endless. The tile sides are currently either Innies, Outies, or Edges. Many a classic board like game can be created or better yet make up one of your own!

Print out various Tiles that interlock in such a way to create the game you want and in color of your choosing. Then print the Inserts to either matching the base tile or not. Snap the inserts into the tile and assemble into your desired game! The Interlocking Tile Pieces are a snug fit but can be easily taken apart and assemble into a different game

Be careful that your piece choice doesn't interfere with easy assembly.

Print 2x ITG_EEII in Black for Corner Tiles

Print 2x ITG_EEOO in White for Corner Tiles

Print 12x ITG_EIII in Black for Edges Tiles

Assemble your chess board (see example pic).

I've included enough different pieces to do a chess board and will upload source files and the rest of the tiles after a small redesign that's not necessary for these pieces. Then hopefully will post to my blog with other game designs and rules sets.

Naming convention as follows... E for Edge, I for Innie, O for Outie, and Zxx is the total height of the tile with the insert retainer being 2.5mm.

I should be including a set of 7.5mm standard and 5.0mm for quicker printing (though they don't hold together as well if you want to pick up an assembled set)

These all should be free for non-commercial and personal use. however contact me if you wish to sell any sets. I'm sure we can work a deal where a portion goes to Makerbot to keep my cupcake in plastic and operational.

[Update 10/05/2010] Just added ITG_EEEE_Z25_InsetLidTop that snaps into the base and forms a small box. Doing this completely blocks the bottom tile color so you loose the inlay effect. good news is that you could print all the interlocking basis in the same color and just print the inset box lids in different colors.
