Modelo 3D Geoffs tiny 1mm screwdriver por geoff_cohen no Thingiverse

Descrição

I've used a tiny 1mm tip screwdriver for several years (made by modding a smallish screwdriver handle), until it disappeared - I was annoyed until I figured out I could just 3D print a replacement.

They are useful for lots of things - such as moving the really tiny DIP switches on WiFi Arduino's, cleaning the charging socket on an iPhone, ejecting an iPhone SIM, lifting up SMD's while unsoldering them, a tiny scraper, separating double sided tape from it's backing paper and even quickie DVM probes - I use them in my workshop nearly every day.

Making a screwdriver is pretty simple.

1 - print a handle (ABS/PETG/PLA) - drill out the hole with 1mm drill if needed 2 - press in some 1mm piano-wire coated with glue on one end (superglue or Epoxy) 3 - cutoff piano-wire to desired length and grind end to make the screwdriver tip

I used a 0.4mm nozzle and ABS - I had to lower the temperature to 220c, also it's a good idea to print at least 2 at once to prevent sagging.

The screwdriver has a built-in raft thats thin enough to easily break off - then just smooth the end

A dremel with a 25mm diamond wheel makes cutting the piano-wire and shaping the screwdriver tip easy. I also ground a couple of flats on the piano-wire, to stop it rotating inside the screwdriver handle. Inserting the piano-wire may be easier if it's heated, but I didn't need it with mine.
