Modelo 3D Flashforge Creator Feet por shergott no Thingiverse

Descrição

After finding lots of replicator 2 feet then realizing they would fit I decided to just reuse the concepts and create my own in Solidworks.

Following the sleek clean lines and minimalist approach for the creator... And asking myself: "What would Frank Lloyd Wright do?" Square feet are clearly the only real design choice.

As well as allowing the feet to keep within the perimeter of the case for those who may be inclined to slip it next to a wall.

Left as an exercise: I considered making the feet spring loaded to offer better vibration protection. My thought was put an appropriate compression spring (5/16 or 3/8" diameter?, 1"-2" long?) over the bolt, between the foot and base, and to move the nut from within the foot base to on top the base. The nut would then be tightened to load the spring accordingly, yet still allow the foot/leg to float. Getting the printer level would take more effort since height adjustment once installed is not likely possible as the nut will spin free. If anyone tries this, I would be curious to know if it worked and helped dampen the vibration.

All parts are in separate files since its much easier to combine things to print than separate multi-part STL files.

Solidworks design files also included.
IMHO multi-part STL files are only useful if you want to control edits and reworks to those models; which makes such models less useful to useless

Instruções

Required: (Refer to Exploded view picture)

  • 4 of 1/4" flat washer with an outside diameter that fits inside the foot.
  • 8 of standard 1/4" nut ( 4 to fasten the feet to the bolt, 4 to fasten the legs to the base pieces).
  • Optional: 8 of #4 wood screw with tapered head to fasten feet base to the printer.
  • 4 of 1/4" carriage bolt minimum length 1" and maximum 3". I recommend 1.5" long bolts which gives about 1/2" height adjustment.

NOTE: THE BOLTS MUST BE THREADED FOR THEIR ENTIRE LENGTH OTHERWISE THE FEET WILL NOT TIGHTEN PROPERLY.

Print each of the foot base pieces and four feet. ( Front Right, Front Left, Rear Right, Rear Left, and four feet) I printed them in ABS at 100% infill, 1 shell, 0.3 mm resolution. No supports, all right side up.

Note: If you have an unmodified printer, the cover for the electronics may be in the way (but I think not), if so, just notch the corners or use shorter bolts (1"-1.5" bolts). The front right foot WILL REQUIRE the shorter bolt unless you have moved the SD card slot.

Clean up the parts. I recommend also drilling the feet base and feet with a 1/4" drill bit to make assembly and adjustments easier but its not required.

Assemble the feet to the bolts as per diagram, then insert the nuts into the feet base and thread the bolts to the feet base. Thread them all the way.
Each foot assembly will only fit on its corresponding corner. Before pushing them on, check the leg bolts have sufficient clearance. Gently push each leg up until it bases out. The fit should be quite snug with no risk of falling off. If not, affix using two small screws per leg.

If you just want to protect the wood on the legs of the printer and do not require the adjustable feet, just print the four feet base pieces and push them on alone.

You most likely do not need to put screws in to hold the feet base to the printer as they are securely held on with the just the design. If you do want to secure them with screws, you MUST drill pilot holes for the screws or you risk the wood splitting.

Note: If you want to make the feet more 'grippy' and cut down on vibration, affix some rubber furniture pads to the bottom of the feet.
