Descrição
One more blade for David6722's OTF switchblade. This one is based on the Microtech Hellhound. I really don't plan to make a career out of plastic knives, I just couldn't pass this one up.
See the original thing for the rest of the pieces and instructions. This blade should replace the standard one with no changes. (It's a little shorter, to keep it from looking skinny.)
> Note: The original OTF knife has disappeared from Thingiverse. There are some copies and remixes around, but to save having to figure out which ones are compatible, I've uploaded a copy of the original files. Note they have to be scaled up 10X to print.
> Less Important Note: I've finally seen the real Microtech blade, which I'd imagined was much larger than this but turns out to be almost exactly the same size on the Ultratech knife. Except it's a little longer and skinnier. Go Figure.
Printing
The blade comes in single- and double-sided versions. The single-sided blade prints with no support, and the double-sided version needs support.
You can print the double-sided version on its side. You can also print it lying on its spine, with the edge facing up, with a raft. The "off" side of the blade comes out much cleaner, though the spine and holes need cleanup.
If you print the blade with a high infill setting, you get a more satisfying sound and feel when it snaps open.
