Modelo 3D Hub-Centric Ring por alga42 no Thingiverse

Descrição

A hub centering ring for aftermarket alloy wheels for your car. Usually aftermarket wheels have a large center bore so that they are applicable on many makes of car with the same wheel stud pattern. It is advisable to locate these wheels with a plastic spacer ring such as this one.

You need to adjust the inner and outer diameter of the ring for your fitment. The default parameters are for an OZ (CB 75 mm) wheel on a Ford hub (63.4 mm).

I printed mine in PLA, even on a race car it seems to work. It softens when the brakes heat up, but that does not seem to be a problem. The ring serves its purpose while you tighten the lug nuts, afterwards the friction keeps the wheel in place.

Instruções

  1. Find out the inner and outer diameter. The outer one will most probably be printed inside the wheel. The inner one depends on your car, you can find it online, e.g. here: http://www.carlsalter.com/all-wheel-fitments.html

  2. Enter the required diameters in the SCAD file or the customizer, and compile.

  3. Print.

  4. Hammer into the wheel with a block of wood or a rubber mallet.

The plastic shrinks when cooling, so the dimensions might need a bit of adjustment. Print one ring, check that it fits in the wheel snugly, that the wheel is tight on the hub, but comes off without too much effort. Adjust if necessary. Keep in mind that the plastic will continue to shrink slightly with heat cycles, so it will become tighter around the hub and looser in the wheel.
