Engineering for Good: 8th grade students used a human centered design process to create a solution for an authentic need in the community.

Design Team: Kenna, Sara, Colin, and Collins

Need Statement: Mr. Mularella needed a better way to pull down his projector screen because he could not reach it with his hands.

Final Solution: Students designed this hook that, when attached to a hockey stick, lets the user easily pull down the projector screen.

Design Notes:

1. The hook was intentionally designed with one flat side to eliminate the need for support material.
2. The idea of combining this hook with a hockey stick made use of other materials in the classroom and greatly reduced printing time.
