This design is based on the memory of a yo-yo I used to own as a kid. And some googling.

###Printed parts 1 x yoyo_top.stl 1 x yoyo_bot.stl 2 x yoyo_mid_gapX.stl

Also included (in a zip) are two-piece yo-yos with different gaps. They're tricky prints, but may be worth a try.
