This print will put your slicer and printer to the limit.

Tripple Bridge Block

It’s hard for the slicer to figure out how to slice this right. It is possible to make the bridge test, but no slicer iv tested have made this right, it is however very easy to print this with support.. But that’s cheating :)

Don’t expect this to work nice, no slicer av tested have managed to fix this. This is for the future or with a bridge.

45 deg print

To print with 45 deg without support can be done with almost all 3d printers. Whats makes this more difficult to print, is that it has to make a “jump” when it prints in 43 deg, and NOT hit the roof beneath it, no filament or stringing can touch the roof of the hangar :) This is doable with most slicer and filament, right?

If not, check that you are printing with enough speed and not too high temperature too high temperature makes your filament to “sink” too fast, and bridging is not possible.

Smooth surface

The pit, back of the hangar, shall be smooth, no stairs! Some filament is better than others to make this and to lower slicer hight to 0.1 or smaller will get a better surface. but.. that can affect other objects on the print negatively :)

If you get “stairs” try to set your slicer to 0.2, most of the time, smaller slice gets better surface, but not always, you have to test.

Size in X - Y

Size matters! Take out your vernier caliper! 40 x 60 mm +- 0.1 No More ! This is VERY important !! If you making a box with a lid or if you make something like a nut or screw, anything that must fit with other parts, then your dimensions matter. Do not think that you can do this with an ordinary ruler :) you cant!

This can be tricky, and be (maybe) compensated in your slicer (slic3r) or you have to do this in your ROM settings, your X and Y steppings. Fast Example: My ROM X Stepper settings = 80.421 When I measure my test print it should be 40 x 60 mm but I got 39.7 mm Then the math: Size (What you want it to be) x Your ROM Step / Size you got. (40 x 80.421 / 39.7 = 81.028) So just put 81.028 in your ROM and do a new test print :)
This can be done with G commands to.

Hole and Edge

There shall not be any crack or small gap next to the hole.

crack or gap ?, check your extruder with or Extrusion multiplier in your slicer.

Roof and horizontal hole

The roof on the hangar shall be smooth and round and the hole through the hangar shall be round. It’s hard to print in more than 45 deg, but its a relatively small hole, so the printer can “bridge” print the roof of the hole.

If you don’t get a nice print on this, maybe you are printing to slow ? or maybe you are printing with too high temperature or you need some cooling fan.
