My wife is a quilter, which means she has to sew a "binding" around the edge of each quilt to finish it up. Many of the quilts are very large so she has tens of feet of binding to manage as she’s sewing it on.

I designed and 3D printed a “Binding Spool” that the binding gets wound up on. Then the spool hangs on a chain around her neck and gets fed out a little at a time as she sews. You can see how it works in this video: https://youtu.be/CuigYNT3Vyk

Update: I had a request to post a 6" version of this spool, and when I adjusted the paremeter, I discovered a bug in the Fusion360 design. I fixed that so the parameterization works, and posted the updated design, along with the 6" spool. If you are modifying the design, I'd strongly suggest using the updated f3d.
