This clips on to the ladder of our pool, which is in the flow from one of the filter-return jets. I've been irritated for years with debris hanging up on the ladder instead of making it to the skimmer. The deflector does a pretty good job of routing leaves and such around the ladder so they can be sucked into the skimmer basket, even though my print didn't complete well. I hope it works for you if you have a similar configuration!

Print with no fill for durability. You may need to flip the STL 180 degrees around X or Y. The deflector just snaps on above the first step of the ladder. It may need adjustment from time to time to keep the top above the surface.
