Modelo 3D Desktop Cluster v8 ⚡️ por printing_is_fun no Thingiverse

Descrição

This Desktop Cluster Chassis is a compact way to hold all components of your desktop cluster in place. It provides a power-supply mount, sufficient ventilation and the most compact single-board-computer (SBC) stack – entirely 3D printable! The model is optimized for 3D printing can be printed on small build-volume printers as the Ender 3.

Print your customizable and modular desktop cluster, with out-of-the-box support for a variety of credit card-sized SBC, such as the Raspberry Pi 4, Asus Tinker Board or the Rock64 (see list of supported models further down the summary). It provides space for up to 8 devices.

How To

Print all the files (They already contain the necessary amount of components needed). You require a printer that supports minimum a build volume of the Ender 3 (220×220×250mm). The design was optimized for 3D printing with respect to support reduction, layering and force impact, modularity and anti-warp surfaces. If wanted, print the file "rally-brackets.stl" in another color, to give the build a decorative accent.

This model is part of the #openclusters project. This projects aims to share useful resources regarding self-governed clusters such as build instructions or software guides. To get further information on how to assemble the full project, please visit www.openclusters.org. On this page you'll find the building plan for the chassis and the cluster itself, including a list of needed components. Furthermore it offers and refers to provisioning and maintenance software to operate clusters in form of blog-posts or shared resources. Last but not least you'll find a Kubernetes provisioning blog post very handy for this cluster with a respective Ansible playbook. The page is operated under an open-participation regime. If you feel like sharing your own experiences or project, please feel free to reach out to me and we will arrange something.

Supported Models ⚠️

All SBC with the same form factor (size and drill holes) as the Raspberry Pi are supported. This includes:

  • Raspberry Pi 2, 3B, 3B+ and the new Raspberry Pi 4
  • Pine H64 and Rock64 (from Pine64)
  • Asus Tinker Board
  • Odriod C1, C1+, C2

SBC with different drill holes could be supported, depending on the layout of the surface mounted components. For such models, please print one slide and pre-test it. Models that fall under this category are for example:

  • Banana Pi model M1+, M2, M2 Berry, M2 Ultra, M3, M64, M4
  • Orange Pi model 3, PC, Win

Contribution ❤️

I'm continuously trying to optimize this design. For this, I'd need constructive feedback for different components, such as different SBC models, different cooling fan models or power distribution mechanisms. Please help me and I'll mention you by name (or pseudonym) in the list of contributors. Feel free to drop a comment or contact me via the website of openclusters.org.
