Z-System is an effort to make a standard for 3D printable game hexes for tactical miniatures combat. Basic tile system designed by Nildex. Most of the basic terrain types and game system designed by Seravi. Translations from English to Japanese done by Mierinco. Playtesting done by Grory159. The castle cap is derived from kyle59's Minecraft Castle.
UPDATE: I haven't touched the system in years,but I decided it was time for an update, as I am using it in a current game. For faster setup, I have 7 base tiles welded together. I also have 3 plain base hexes welded together. This can be used for large areas of the same terrain type, or link them to act as a base for things like structures or large, multi-hex terrain features.
I also added Tac Hex Building 1-5, if you are looking for terrain for a 50m = 1 hex scale. I also print out scatter terrain and use it for 28mm figures that use hexes.
Instruções
Parts printed in PLA (except for colony, see below). The base parts are used to define the general play area. The middle parts are used to change the altitude of a given hex. The cap pieces are used to determine the terrain type. Painting is done with model paints (including grass paint) and with inexpensive craft store acrylic paints. If you plan on putting units on a stand, use a 3.2mm drill bit to widen the central hole. Miniatures or game pieces can then be mounted on 3mm aluminium rod. To change terrain types, download one of the caps we have already designed, or design your own. If you can, please link any new caps that you make so that others can share.
I have also printed out hexes using a DLP resin printer, but the cost per hex is pretty high. For the O'Neill Colony use a DLP resin printer with support. I suggest rotating the base to a 45 degree angle from the print surface.
