Modelo 3D Spool Bracket por the_mighty_sparrow no Thingiverse

Descrição

Like most MAKERs, I'm very cost conscious. Also, like most MAKERs, I shop around for the best product at the best price. Not surprisingly, the filament available through the MakerBot store is at the high end of the price spectrum.

Even less surprising, the Replicator (5th Gen) was designed to make using their spools convenient. Well, that and make using anyone else's spools inconvenient. Funny thing is, that big hollow space makes the whole thing all that much noisier. ...but I digest. ;) Now that I've ranted a bit...more about this design!

The bracket should attach to the frame of the Replicator and keep the spool from obstructing the view from the top.

I made a little adapter for the extruder and some standard 4mm tubing. I say standard since it's the type used with most refrigerators to hook up water (not for tubing that ships with the Gen5). Unfortunately, after several prints, the top snapped off. It needs modified to be more like the bottom half (with a jacket around it, so to speak). Just a little something to provide more structural integrity.

Also, if you have a spool that doesn't quite fit this bracket, I made the holes big enough to insert some 1.5" PVC tubing (or dowell or...whatever). Basically, you should still be able to use the mount for various other spool shapes/size.

UPDATE was able to snap a few [focused] pics of the filament guide with my phone - one was attached to some tubing and the other one is of the one that snapped.

ANOTHER UPDATE
I added more detail to the `Instructions` section. The change was prompted by a comment from lljfoster Hopefully it helps a few newbies understand the software a bit better.

Instruções

When you initially import the .stl file for the brackets, do not scale them at all. Just click `Don't Scale` in the Object Too Large dialog.

All you have to do is open the `Move` tool's precision panel (not really sure what to call it). You can accomplish this on any one of the transformation tools by clicking the button twice. Try not to double click -- just click/select the tool, wait a second and then click it again. When the Change Position panel opens, just click `Center` and then click `On Platform`.

Next, do the same thing with the Turn button. In this dialog:

  1. Click X: `-90?`
  2. Click `Lay Flat`
  3. Click Z: `-90?`

YES, I could have changed and uploaded new files. These instructions are overkill. But for a good reason. ;)
I did this so anyone new to the software would see a few new things about the software if it wasn't already obvious.

####NOTE
If you're going to print the filament guide, it's best to turn it vertically. I only placed it this way in the file so it would be easier to see the inner diameter.

Come to think of it...the *opposite* goes for the brackets (ha). They are best to print when laying flat. Again, I only oriented the .stl files this way so it would be easy to see in this preview.
