Descrição

Black Hole Effector

Update: 6.7.19: Further tidying of the models: -Main body improved for ease of construction and strength -30mm fan cover is... better -Volcano riser is also... better - Screw your old metal plate to is and glue the whole to the bottom of your hot end... or if you use longer screws, with a bit of fiddling, the screws will hold to the outside of the body. -Models and images update to suit -Some real piccies added (of the original prototype)

Update: 2.7.19: Yes I can't leave stuff alone. When assembling my effector, and parts, I did find it a little troublesome to assemble... so I've tweaked all the files and re-uploaded the whole lot.

Update: 1.7.19: Small update to Body.stl and Face.stl to make assembly easier and improve accuracy. Also the addition ot a 30-40mm fan adaptor - this risks fouling the effector arms to I'd suggest low profile 40mm fans only. The fan cover is not mine but I rather like it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1341005/files

Can you work out the reason for the name? Think of a certain famous evil company back when the worst crime they committed was the occasional twee film.

It's an effector update, and associated parts, for the Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus if you've upgraded to an E3D V6 or clone.

It will also support a Volcano upgrade, which I'd highly recommend even if you stick with a standard 0.4mm nozzle.

The idea is to lower mass as much as possible - less inertia means more accuracy, especially as you crank up the speed.

I've found this hot end further improves accuracy, especially at high speed. I presume because this hot end is pretty light... less inertia, etc.

I expect it will work ok with a V5 hot end with a little fiddling, but I've not tried myself!

Take a close look at the files to work out how to use this effector - it's mostly a case of having some spare nuts and bolts kicking about, a strait swap and printer recalibration.

Don't forget the grab the metal plate from the old effector to which the hight probe attaches. Stick it to the bottom of the new effector (with riser if you're using a volcano) and away you go.

You will need two 30mm fans as a minimum, three for preference - two fans for hot end cooling allows for a push + pull set up; either allow more cooling or extra quiet fans.

The body and ducts need to be printed with support, preferably everywhere, the ducts are best printed the other way up.

Don't forget to print the main parts in a heat resistant plastic, such as ABS.

I'll post more details in due course.
