As a long time fan I wanted to add an Amiga touch to my Raspberry.
Current plan is to put together a stylish platform coupled with 2 Speedlink USB joysticks and play Amiga games with my kids but I am also seriously thinking about an AROS native setup that is going to be topic for another side project. :)
Now, something about the design itself:
Front face picks its style from my beloved (and long gone) Amiga 4000. SD cards can be easily swapped from the provided opening. A slot to embed a momentary button to trigger a soft RPi shutdown is also provided. Momentary button is held by a small extrusion inside the case.
Lid latches to the main body with magnets; a small recess on the back is provided for easy lid removal. The Amiga logo has been engraved on the lid but I am also providing the AROS version.
Case is big enough to hold the RPi3B+ (or RPi4B) and has enough space to add some more electronics (eg. hats, fans). It is designed, by the way, to use short HDMI and microUSB extender cables to bring connectors to the rear.
Ventilation is provided by a grid at the bottom and openings on the lid. Bottom also has 4 slots for rubber feets that I suggest to print in flexible filament.
Last but not least, back panel can be swapped to support different Raspberry connectors configurations. I would have already made the RPi 4 model available but I am missing the reference design to precisely position the new ports.
NOTE: there is also a small badge to mimick the one usually came with every Amiga: I still don't know what should I to put there but I am sure some of you can help figure it out. What about a small oled display hole? What for?
