Take a mesh in blender.org like the Suzanne monkey, solidify the wireframe using this script:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Modeling/Solidify_Wireframe
Then subdivide the new object to get smooth junctions. This makes surfaces reminiscent of voroni-algorithm subdivisions of surfaces. Very useful for 3D printing.
