Adjust the aspect ratios so that you'll be able to fit some padding between the ankle and the brace. Aspect ratios for both plates should be the same unless there's significant swelling. In which case, consult a doctor.

Use some form of padding to fit inside both plates.

Bind plates to the ankle using an Ace bandage. Make sure to wrap both the ankle and the heel for secure stabilization.
