UPDATE 4/8/2021 SUGGESTION: Print the "SCREW COLLET" piece using Flexible PLA, TPU or similar "flexible type material."

I have, seemingly, solved the issue with the "Screw Collet" pieces being fragile and breaking. I now print the SCREW COLLET using "Flexible PLA." These flexible PLA printed SCREW COLLETS, seem to last much longer (have not had one break yet). Have NOT tried TPU or other flexible material, but "assume" they will work as well. ALL other parts of Record Clamp should still be PLA or similar rigid material.

UPDATE 1/19/2021 ADDED FILE: Record_Clamp_Flat_Bottom_Label_PLate_SMALL_DIAM_01062021 DESC.: Reduced diameter "Label Plate" in the "Flat Bottom" style.

This Flat Bottom Label Plate has a 3.2" Diameter (81.28mm) vs the original Label Plate's 3.5" Diameter (88.9mm).

Had a user contact me stating his new AT33GTP/II cartridge was contacting the record clamp at the end of the record, reduced label plate at 3.2" (81.28mm) solved the problem.

Use this "reduced diameter" file IF you are using a AT33GTP/II or other "wide body cartridge."

UPDATE 7/3/2020 If you are having issues printing the "knob," where the ends/holes are covered:

you must un-check the "Union Overlapping Volumes" on "Mesh Fixes" Menu, for correct printing of "Record_Clamp_RB__FB_Knob_1.3_04142019" part. Otherwise it will be printed covered

UPDATE 6/4/2019 I have been using one of these Record Clamps (the BLUE recessed bottom one in pics)for a couple of months now and have found the "screw collet" to be a bit of a failure point. In that the collet "can" begin to stretch/crack at the thin wall between first threads and solid collet area. There has been NO catastrophic failure, as in when it does crack the screw collet remains functional and I have NOT had a complete clamp failure while in use. Also of note, I have been tightening the knob with "more force" than is probably necessary as a test along the way. SUGGESTION #1: DO NOT over-tighten clamp, tightening enough to hold (especially a warped record) IS good enough. SUGGESTION #2: Print extra "SCREW COLLETS," should be a less than 5-minute print (each) and having a few back-ups will be helpful

Possible re-design of screw collet coming, but NO immediate plans to do so.

Do you want to play those warped records? Are you looking to better "couple" your records to your turntable platter?

A record clamp is a useful device for playing records. Once printed and assembled, simply put Record Clamp on top of record on spindle, push down on "label plate" to flatten record and turn "knob" to tighten against spindle.

Unlike metal Record Clamps these wont damage spindles and as well wont add much weight to platter/motor etc. Average Clamp Weight is ~32 grams.

Using CURA, I printed ALL at 1.5 layer height Screw Collet - SOLID Label Plate - 10% infill Knob - 20% infill

All designs done in MasterCam, all slicing/G-code done in Cura, Parts printed on an Anet A8 using PLA material.
