This is for beaders. You put your beads in the pot and spin it gently by twiddling the shaft. If you point a piece of beading wire into the pot at a shallow angle, it miraculously picks up beads far faster than you can thread them manually.

You can put a small bead under the cavity in the base to make it spin more easily.
