Modelo 3D I.S.A.A.C 3-d Printer case por JarlSagan1278 no Thingiverse

Descrição

This is a work in progress. Any feedback is appreciated

I.S.A.A.C. has everything you need to improve the functionality and safety of your 3-d printer (designed for Prusa i2). It stands for Intrepid Solid Asset Accumulating Construct (probably).

includes;
-smooth, variable diameter spool holder
-holder for your tools (screwdriver, pliers, lube, ect.)

  • waste bin for plastic threads and bits
    -opening door to print bed
-latching back panel for easy access repairs
    -Super awesome robot aesthetics!

I made mine from MDF and printed parts, but any material may be used. The dimensions for the 1/4" MDF piecesare included in the files. Additionally, I used metal hinges for the front and back doors, but I intend on designing printable versions in the future. Further, M3 screws can be used for all the small fasters and 1/4" bolts for all the large ones.

Instruções

1.) print all parts and cut out all paneling.

2.) Use the clamps to attach all of the panels together as shown in the pictures section. I found the best way is to drill as you go; place a clamp against a part, drill the holes, bolt the clamp on, and then line the assembly up to a new panel and then drill those holes.

3.) Place bearings in the two bearing holes in the mount and Attach the mount to the back of the vertical surface using four 1/4' bolts, facing away from your printer.

4.) place the mount cap on the mount and secure with two M3 screws. Now yiou should be able to place the M8 rod in the mount. it should rotate freely and not fall backwards due to the presence of the mount cap.

5.)Screw the Spoolholder base onto the threaded rod so that is is approx 1/2 cm from the vertical surface. The snug fit on the threads should allow it to spin on the bearings and not move about the threaded rod.

6.) finally, screw the spoolholder down the threaded rod towards the spoolholder base. When they are close, fit the triangular protrusion on the spoolholder into the groove in the spoolholder base. This should secure the two pieces into the same rotation.

7.) to change the spool holder simply unscrew it from the threaded rod and screw on a differently sized holder.

8.) now use hinges to attatch the font and back doors. Screw the handle to the front door with 1/4" bolts.

9.) use M3 screws to attatch all of the tool holders and trash bin to the side shoulder panels

10.) Bolt the neck piece to the shoulder and run any electronics up through it into the head. This is especially for smart LCD controllers.

11.) use super glue or any adhesive for the aesthetics (mouth, antenna, letters, ect)

12.) print! You are now protected and aided by your new robot friend!
