If the lids don't fit tightly enough, I suggest heating up the lid and warping it slightly so it has some friction to hold it in place.

There are a few micrometer boxes included here, let's go over them:

Unimic box

• This box was designed specifically for the Mitutoyo 0-1" Unimic (part no. 117-107).
• It may fit other mics, but none of my other mics fit in it.

Inside mic box

• This box was designed specifically for the Brown & Sharpe 0.2-1.2" inside mic. I don't have a part number, see pictures for an example.

0-1 or 25mm mic box

• This box was designed to fit various 0-1" or 0-25mm micrometers. I have tested it with the following:

1. Mitutoyo 0-1" with friction thimble (Part no. 103-135)
2. Brown & Sharpe 0-25mm with friction thimble
3. Vintage Lufkin 0-1" with ratchet thimble (Part no. 1641)

If you find other micrometers that fit these boxes, let me know and I'll add them to the above list.

Also note that one of the images shows an older version of two of the boxes. I have added a storage compartment to all boxes for additional tools, anvils, standards, etc.
