A coke and mentos driven engine.

Inspired by their recent rocket car, but exploring alternative designs to increase efficiency and reduce wastage of my fav soft drink*

The EepyEngine is driven by the usual 0.5 inch PVC/Coke/Mentos setup, and hopes to be a lot more efficient than driving acrylic rods. You can also mount many of them together through a long M6 threaded rod to increase torque.

*technically, i love the non-diet, original recipe Coke; not the recommended diet variety.

1. Visit eepybird.com and be comfortable with what you are going to try
2. get the eepybird setup - diet coke, 0.5 inch PVC pipe, release mechanism
3. print the EepyEngine -

• epoxy the funnel* together first, then the funnel to the housing
• 2 x 626 bearings and 4 M6 nuts are in the impeller. The nuts are in the centre
• use a M6x50mm or 60mm bolt** to mount the centre axis
• impeller mechanism is mounted in the following order: -- Bolt|Nut, washer, [housing], washer, [impeller assembly], washer(s), 626 bearing, washer, nut.
• bolt on the brace, centre hole onto the 626 bearing outside the impeller with M3x35mm bolts

• technically a reverse funnel, which would translate to an inverted funnel (but not in physical cartesian space), which implies the true nature of this design. ** or a M6 threaded rod if you are going for a V12/24/256 engine

Please post results of any tests done on torque or angular velocity!

Update Impeller.stl file just updated. It was flipped around axis! Argh.... Sorry anyone who printed earlier impeller...
