This is an outlet/socket mount for the new 3rd Gen Echo Dot.

It is designed to entirely hide the cable, yet not block the speakers in the Echo Dot.

The mount comes in 3 parts: -

• the base which slides on the underside of the power supply, and has space for wrapping the wire around a central 'core'
• the top part with then pushes down over the top of the power supply and should clip onto the base (though the clips are somewhat superfluous since it's a snug fit anyway ... but make sure the base and top are pushed together firmly).
• a cover to fit over the area where the cable goes into the echo dot.

No supports needed at all

I recommend fitting the base over the PSU and spooling the cable from the outside, going inwards, in a single layer, and then starting on a second layer of cable from the inside going outwards. This reduces the number of times the wire crosses itself, and makes it easier to fit. Leave an inch or two of cable protruding back into the opening towards the PSU, then push the top over the PSU and push it down onto the base. while holding the cable in place. You can then plug the connector into the Echo Dot and gently push that into place. and then finally clip in the cover.

UPDATE 2018.12.30 - I've uploaded version 2 parts, which strengthen the various clips, and this version is a bit looser fit for those folks with poorly calibrated printers. (It's actually looser than I'd like for me, so I'll also upload another tighter fit version shortly). I enlarged the PSU hole very slightly, and changed the taper for the PSU sides also.

Note: It fits VERY snuggly over the Echo Dot power supply (which annoyingly has slightly sloping sides). Let me know if it's too tight and I can adjust tolerances slightly, but with only 0.5mm variation it goes from being a very tight fit to being a bit too loose for my taste. . Note: This is designed to fit the US power supply. I'm not sure if the supply for other countries is the same outer shape, so cannot confirm whether it is compatible with those.
