I was looking for a PCB vise and I liked some designs, but in the end the hardware was not a good fit to those designs.
I took inspiration on PCB vise 180 flip and create my own vise.
This vise do more than 180 degree flips. I intended to leave the PCB in 15 degree angle, the final angle should be close to that. I find easy to work soldering with the PCB at a small angle, rather than flat.
The idea is to use a 1/2" aluminum pipe as guide and also as axis for the flip. The screw is 1/4". This is what I had at hand.
There are two bushing. One has a small space to fit a nut. This is the driver, as the nut can not rotate, it will provide de closing or opening. The other bushing is a small tube, that it is intended to lock the screw in position. To lock this bushing, there is need of some glue or epoxy.
The handle is designed to take a small screw and nut to lock into the long screw. It may be a good idea to file a bit, so there is a flat surface for the screw to lock into. It may also work with epoxy. This is a PCB vise, I do not foresee applying much force.
I made some dents, that may help secure the PCB with less force.
