I made this night light for my nephew. You can choose a back plate to glue on... one is blank and the other projects Ursa Major (Big Dipper), Polaris (North Star), and some decorative stars onto the wall. Note: because of all the reflected light inside the moon, these stars will be a little blurry (see photos). Use dark filament on the backplate if you want less light on the wall (and more 'star' contrast), or leave off the back for maximum light in the room. The moon slides onto an inexpensive LED night light ($5.99 from WM) which I've linked below. Enjoy!

Also, if you want to try a custom back plate, see my last photo to get an idea of how I did it in Tinkercad. Center the light source 'point' 7mm from the bottom edge of the back plate and 18.3mm off the back plate's surface. Model your 'projection surface' 33mm away from this point-source (14.7 mm behind the back plate). The 'shadows' cast onto this 'projection surface' will resemble the final design, but keep in mind that you need to stay off the outer 2mm of the back plate, and that projected images will get larger if they are closer to the light source ;) (I made the outer holes bigger to compensate, proportional to the change in r^2)
