Descrição
This assembly is designed to allow a MCU to get accurate angle and direction data using optical transistors.
I've revised the design several times, and the current one seems to work, but I'm still waiting on the optical components I ordered to arrive.
I will update when I have the finished prototype.
UPDATE: Based on a suggestion from Corona688, I designed a 3 bit binary version as well. I haven't tested it yet, but I will update when I do.
Instruções
The two halves each accept a 608ZZ bearing. The Shutter has a lip on the top side that will meet the bearing and the shaft has a matching lip that will meet the bearing on the other side. If you use all eight of the sensor positions, you can program the MCU to detect the direction of rotation since the shutter window will allow both the current and next sensor to trigger simultaneously. This will allow a clever programmer to get a positional accuracy of about 22.5 degrees depending on the print tolerances of the plastic, and the specific sensitivity of the optocouplers employed.
This works best printed in a plastic that is opaque to the led color you are using.
This design was a solution to the suggestion of 7thCrook in the comments of the Solenoid Motor. It will make V8 design possible, as well as others.
UPDATE: The binary version require 2 cases, the binary shutter, and the spacer. Thread a 3mm machine screw through the hole in the top of the cases with the spacer between them.
