IMPORTANT NOTE!!

I am considering this a "dead" project at this time. I had a lot of fun drafting this all up, but I now have no reason to go back and edit it to be printed in a 1:1 scale, as the Q-Pack exists.

The Q-Pack was made by Machiels Quentin (thus the name "Q-Pack") TacoBelli and Cyberbooth and is amazingly done that just about any printer can print a 1:1 pack! The files are on github, and there is a facebook group, too! Both linked below:

========

First off, this is a MAJOR work in progress. In theory, all parts in this file should be cable of printing, but I am not planning to test them all! If you want to test them, feel free! I can say that the solid model will work! User InfiniTTTy printed it and it came out great! There is some info I need to express about the pack models though:

  • ALL of these are in a 1:25.4 scale exactly. You will need to upscale to make them 1:1, and slice them as well (netfabb is your friend!).
  • A few of these parts are off by a smige. Some of the parts had sloped edges I had a heck of time getting in the models, so they are not there.
  • The bar is no where near accurate. Its close, but not accurate.

Second, credit due! These models were made using Stefan Otto and Norms pack plans. I used Stefans for 90% of this, and norms for the rest. If you plan to make a proton pack, I HIGHY advise you check these guys plans out! Both can be found at the GhostBuster fan page

Finally: I do plan to make my own pack, however, I do not plan to 3D print the entire thing! I only plan to print some of the more complex parts (such as the booster frame, clippard valves, etc)

These were all created in AutoCAD 2012 (and yes, I know, there are much better 3D modeling programs. But CAD is what I learned and what I am most comfortable using). I do not plan to release the main files at this time, because my digital work space is a total mess (picture attached for this).

I will also stick some handy links in the instructions tab for those wanting to make their own packs.

In the meantime, get as much use from these files as you can!

As promised, links!

First off, GBFans are a GREAT bunch! check out their site here:
http://www.gbfans.com/

Second, Jack Doud has a site for making props, and has an awesome setup for the lights on the pack! This doesn't have sound, but I plan to make my own rig for that, that I will share once done. His site: http://www.bloody-plastic.com/costumes.html

This site is also great! This project as all the parts for the pack itself, but there are members here that have done better jobs of certain parts. Lough has a fantastic clippard and bumper bar that puts mine to shame. His profile: http://www.thingiverse.com/loughkb/designs

And finally, Instructables. Most of you may have this site bookmarked, but for those who do not have it set: this is another fantastic site. You may need to use them more for electronics and tools (hotwire, for example) but there are a few great packs on there too!. Link to the site: http://www.instructables.com/
