Fully installed it creates a dappled light effect, but backing it off any amount creates a variable light condition based on your preference. Analog hack via digital fabrication!

Simply screw this shade onto many normal CF bulbs to produce an analog dimmer by varying the amount it is attached. The shade was designed from a 14 Watt bulb purchased at Lowes. There should be no overhangs or towers needed as the geometry is based on a 60 degree build angle
