When i buy a spare chain from my still chainsaw i get the chain in a cardboard box. When i use the chain in the field i realized the need of this thing. Sure you can by originals from still but what's the fun by having a 3d printer then.
To give this box a little extra a make some kind of counting system. There are 2 dials that have a small notch in it. In the box there is a pin with a small boll. I test fit this and with normal pla on 210 °c it is string enough and gives a nice tension on the dial. Whit this counter you can count the times that the chain is sharped or filed. So you have a idea whit spare chain is already used a lot and with is quit new.
There are 3 types of upper part . the one with " chain 40 cm file 4.8mm" on it. A other with "chain 35cm file 4mm" on it. The last one is without something. The text is of course the chain length and with witch kind of file it need to sharp. These are the only ones i own. If you like to have another text, just let me now.
assembling.: mount the 2 counters in the wright place. Put a M3 bolt 25mm long in the hole and screw it thru the counters. At the other end place a M3 nut, there is a small place so normally the nut will self lock in the house. Do not tight this to strong or your counters while not rotate. For the hinge i drill/ clean the hole with a 2mm drill and then use a 1,75mm filament and melt it on both sides to fix it in place.
You can use the box also for other things. If you have made one or you have some question just post it to me if you wan't.
Have fun.
