Edit: 2021-11-07 Testing a design change that gets rid of the sidesprings and instead using steel balls and a spring in the shaft for the gear shifting feeling since the printed sidesprings always breaks apart so the previous edit with the addition of carbon blades does not work. The front and rear "spring plates" is still up to the task and no replacement of those has been needed since the beginning.

Edit: 2018-07-24 WORK IN PROGRESS!!! Sidesprings are changed to a thin design and you have to add something yourself that acts as a leaf spring. 3mm in thickness on each is needed. I'm currently using strips of 1mm thick carbon fiber, 3 on each side.

This is my take on a sequential simracing shifter. It is still experimental after som problems and different designs of the "Spring side.stl". The current design and choice of material seems to work The goal is to get more of a gear shifting feel than other printable designs Iv'e come across. The design uses "Sidesprings" to give an initial resistance to the shifting motion. On my own unit I have printed everything in PLA except "Spring side.stl" and "Shaft inserts.stl" that is printed in PETG otherwise the two "Spring side.stl" will snap in the center after a while. "Spring side.stl" needs to be printed standing on the side with concentric layers and 100% concentric infill to get a smooth profile and springy strength "Shaft inserts.stl" should also be printed in this manner. My unit is connected to a Leo Bodnar BBI-32 Button box board.

Hardware needed: 6 M5 nuts 4 M5x40 countersunk head 2 M5x18 countersunk head 2 M8 nuts 1 M8x80 threaded rod 2 12.9x5.9 micro switches eowith R-shaped lever.

The "Housing middle.stl" and "Housing right.stl contains 5mm countersunk holes for mounting the shifter to something.
