These are the brackets and mounts I created to convert my instep bike trailer into a cross country ski child carrier. The skis are 110cm youth Cross Country skis. The tow poles are made from EMT conduit. I have included the Left and Right brackets and the mount (mount is the same for both sides) as well as an optional mount template to aid in marking the hole locations on the skis for drilling. The mounts are attached in a similar fashion to a regular cross country ski mount. Plenty of youtube videos to help you there.

Although I feel comfortable towing my child in this trailer, I am not suggesting it is safe for you to tow your child with this. I thoroughly inspect each part before and after use to make sure there are no problems. So far I have used this trailer 3 times. I have put at least 15 miles on them. No issues thus far. My bike trailer is only rated to carry 80 lbs. I have no idea what the capacity of my ski kit is. My child weighs about 28lbs.

I have used this ski trailer setup now about a dozen times this winter and I estimate that I have put about 60 miles on it. Everything is holding up well! It's great to be able to ski with my little one.
