Modelo 3D PiGRRL Zero Screen Bezel por mrdralixx no Thingiverse

Descrição

Like many people, I was quick to rush and build a PiGrrl Zero when Adafruit first introduced the design. After I completed the build, I noticed a pretty wide gap between the inside of the top faceplate and the LCD screen. This was not a major issue at first, but over time and usage, minor bits of dirt were able to get inside, as well as the screen came loose from the double-sided tape causing the screen to flop around inside.

I remember searching around to see if others had had the same issue. I don't remember where I saw it,but someone had mentioned on a message board somewhere where they had used something as a spacer between the two. I know it wasn't something 3D printed, but I know I don't take full credit for the idea of a spacer either. I held off on doing anything at that point in time though.

Then I came across Jpete24's design and decided I'd like to try again with one that had its own sound source and volume knob. After I printed the parts (version 3 for me), I immediately noticed the gap present between the LCD and the top faceplate during a dry fit of the parts. This time, I decided to do something to resolve the issue.

My design skills are limited, but I was able to fumble my way with Tinkercad and create this bezel. I designed it to fill the gap all the way around the opening and to snap in place around the top and sides. (not the bottom as that would interfere with the button pad piece that runs along the bottom) It's not a super tight lock, but it is enough to secure it into place while putting the LCD into place and stay there afterwards.

Currently, I know it works and fits perfectly on version 3.0 of Jpete24's version of PiGrrl Zero. I imagine it will work for the other ones he includes into the same package. I checked on a spare original PiGrrl Zero case and it fits, but is slightly loose on that design. A couple spots of hot glue would hold it in place though. I will most likely make a version that is modified to fit it perfectly on the original though as I hate having things like that nag at me. A co-worker is interested in making the Plus version that Jpete24 offers as well, so I will most likely have a version for that too in the near future.
