Descrição
Store well over a dozen eggs on this compact and elegant bench top ramp. The eggs automatically flip from the upper ramp to the lower one so they stay in order. This is important for those of us who have chooks and get our eggs a few each day. Even if your buy your eggs by the dozen, this is still a fun way to display them.
Instruções
All parts were printed with 0.3mm layer height and 40% fill but this isn't critical. The flip cup incorporates support into the design - you don't need to add your own.
Timber parts are 400mm and 350mm long, 28mm concave corner mouldings. The shorter one is cut at an angle to match the angle of the cup when it swings up. After test fitting everything together I dismantled it again and gave the timber 2 coats of polyurethane. You can make the ramps longer or shorter if you wish to store more eggs or occupy less bench space respectively.
A dozen small wood screws hold plastic parts to timber and I used a fine nail for the flip cup pivot. I snipped the nail to length and flattened the cut end in a vise to stop it falling out. You could open up the holes with a drill and use 2 small screws or some 3mm filament for the pivot instead if you wish.
The "spring" is a rubber band looped thru the hole in the flip cup then round the bottom of the pivot bracket. Use a rubber band with just enough tension to lift the cup up to the upper ramp. You could use a weight instead of the rubber band if you wish.
You could assemble this to have the flip cup on either the left or the right. I had thought of making it wall mounted with more than 2 ramps but the capacity of this unit matches our household production and consumption nicely.
