Descrição
This stackable organiser protects your optical fibres from accidental damage and over-bending and is inherently scalable to large arrays of fibres. The "base" piece has a mounting feature for an M6 caphead screw to mount to an optical table. You can then print as many "middle" pieces as you need to house all of your fibres then top it all off with a "lid" piece.
Instruções
The inner diameter of the channel is 10 cm in order that it is impossible to bend the fibre below the usual minimum bend radius of 5 cm. Each piece can hold around 3x 0.9 mm diameter fibres of 3 m in length before things get a bit tight.
Print a "base" piece and mount this to your optical table with an M6 caphead screw then print as many "middle" pieces as you need to house all of your fibres then top it all off with a "lid" piece.
It is best to place the pieces on the table then arrange the fibres in them before adding further "middle" pieces or the "lid".
We found that printing these with a lot of perimeters (we used 5) helps with the fairly thin walls. It also helped with adhesion when we printed onto fresh blue painters tape - this is quite crucial as you need these quite large pieces to come out with very flat bases.
