This frame that will hold a standard sized shade #14 welders glass filter for viewing the solar eclipse, or for general sun observation.

The lens size is 2" x 4.25". BE SURE TO USE ONLY SHADE #14. See the photo, and you will know what to ask for.

I was able to obtain the lens from a local welders supply shop, who still had a good supply as of Aug 15 2017. The sun will look greenish, but otherwise good optical quality. For reference, I paid $3.25 for the lens, so when you add in the tip, you will only be out $6.25! (just saying).
