I had the idea for this mount some time ago while doing some tall prints, and they won't fit the scene in timelapses. This is best suited for tall prints, and less for large and short ones, but since it is so easy and fast to print, you can try and see if it fits your needs. You can always exchange between this and my Bed mount http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1867549
This is specifically made for the Raspberry Pi Camera, so you should use Octoprint for this, but I'll give you the .step file so you can remix it and adapt for other cameras.
You need:
- Raspberry Pi Camera (v1 or v2 - v2 has better quality);
- RPi camera extension cable http://www.gearbest.com/raspberry-pi/pp_451150.html?wid=21 I bought three different sizes for maximum versatility, but for this project you need the longer one;
- (optional, but recommended) 0.67 X Detachable Wide Angle Macro Camera Lens for Mobile Phones http://www.ebay.it/itm/122118851619?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=421705232711&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT it's only 1,30 eur and you have a perfect wide camera lens for this application!
