Descrição
A simplified version of the Mendel y-chassis suitable for making with a saw and a drill press.
Instruções
Cut a rectangle of board 200x136mm. Print the template 1:1, cut it out and fix it to the board with masking tape. Prick though all the hole centres. Remove the paper and centre punch them.
Drill the large holes 6mm and then use a saw to join them up to make the 6 slots.
Drill the small holes 3.3mm to take M3 bolts. Drill the medium sized holes 4.2mm-4.5mm for M4 bolts.
Note that the inner holes for the bearing brackets are missing. This is because the position varies according to how the bearings are adjusted. After the bearings have been adjusted fit them and mark through the holes to get the remaining 8 4.2mm holes.
A good material to use is Dibond, a 3mm thick sandwich of PE laminated with aluminium. It is strong but light and easy to machine and not very expensive. You can use it for all the Mendel thick sheet parts.
