Descrição

I have not printed anything successfully yet, because the 4 z-axis motors are only getting 1/2 power. So they tend to skipping steps. As a result, it does not raise level. My solution to this problem, is to mount a Mechaduino board on each motor, that should solve the problem. In case you are wondering what a mechaduino board is, it's basically a encoder and motor controller that mounts on the back of any nema 17 or even nema 23 stepper motor, and turns it into a servo/stepper motor. I'll leave a link below. I just need to figure out how to wire it up to the ramps broad, which I hope to do this weekend. I only discovered the mechaduino a few weeks ago, I wish I had known about it when I started, with it I could have used nema 23 motors for the Z axis, and I can put more power to the motors.

This printer has a built volume of 38''x24''x28'' high. It can easily be made larger or smaller. I got the inspiration for the design from the Mostly Printed CNC http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1671517. I modified the stl files on thinkercad. This one has the 1'' OD rods, I got them from the metal super market online, I used cold rolled DOM steel. For the control unit I use a ramps 1.4, I had to use the E1 motor driver for the z axis, for more power. The bearings I used are the same as the ones for the Mostly Printer CNC, and the bolts for the bearings are also the same.

4 acme screws 3/4''x36''-6 12 acme nuts 3/4''-6

To built the box I used 3/4'' wood. For the firmware I used Marlin, with the ramps 1.4, and I had to use the E1 driver to power the z axles for more power. To do this you need to go to the Configuration_adv.h file and go to "// #endif // Z_DUAL_STEPPER_DRIVERS" and remove the // in the front.
